We all think to do something, but there are less who take initiatives. Dr. Hena with some of her colleagues and friends took this initiative and try to raise some funds for the flood victims using all possible resources. At first, few doctors joined her like Dr. Kashif, Dr. Najia from Tabba Heart Institute and in non-medical people me, Komal, Mehmood were included.
After having some funds collection, we planned a visit to interior of Sind and to have a look on the Flood situation and problems of victims, also our first task was to locate the areas where these Flood victims are coming after migration.
On 14th August, 2010, we had our first visit to Moro and Hyderabad. In this visit, we spent our most of the time in travelling to better understand the situation and to target our tasks, also we distributed Food items like mineral water, milk packs, juices and cooked food to the people on our way who were migrating from far areas like Kashmor and Jacobabad and coming towards Hyderababd and Thatta. Then, on our way back in Hyderabad we distributed Food items to almost 1000 people the same day in afternoon in two different camps.
In this visit, Dr. Kashif gave us guidelines and supervised us in a very good manner as he was more experienced and well aware to the areas of Sind.
This was our first visit towards interior of Sind which helped us to plan our next visit in a more better and managed way.
